Men's thank you card

I created this card for the MyPinkStamper challenge. Making things for the guys is definitely a challenge. I created this card using brown kraft notecard and envelope and leftover fabric from a quilt I made for my son and his wife. I stitched the fabric down with both black and tan thread to add some texture.

(Obviously I am going to need to some help in photographing my projects. Any tips would be appreciated.)

Thanks

  1. there's a few things you can do fairly inexpensively:

    background:
get a neutral color curtain panel that you cannot see through, this will help absorb some of the light. ( beige, gray or black ) keep a lint roller handy!

    lighting:
i use a bedside lamp i got at target with a while pillow case as a diffuser ( to soften the light ) be careful tho, some of those lamps get really HOT.

    positioning:
with a curtain panel, you can drape it over nearly anything and set up your shot as needed. quick setup and clean up! you'll also want to use the timer on your camera if you have one, and get a tripod if you can. (doesn't have to be high professional grade, you can probably find a $20 version at a ritz / wolf camera or your local vendor. i use the tripod EVEN WITH digital, makes a huge difference.

another thing (my personal preference perhaps) i try to never use my flash, with some materials a flash will never do it justice.

    hope this helps you.
